July 14th
Ouch! They say "No pain! No gain!!" Whoever created that statement was right! I could have bruises, soreness, cramping of the foot when swimming, but for some reason when Im done, I just cant wait to do it all over again. If I miss a training session during the week, it really makes me uptight. I feel this new addiction and its feeling alive.
Team in Training was the best thing to have ever happened to me. Its a new lifestyle with a new challenge each week with different locations to test your ability in what your body can do for such a good cause.
Climbing the Key Biscayne Bridge (twice) on my tri-bike gave me a feeling of completion that money just cant buy! I literally cried when I climbed that bridge and my coach was waiting for me at the other end telling me, "Good job. Now go do it again to get back to our camp!" OMG! This time around it was easier!
Jumping in the ocean is also a relief, only when you come to find out that you must swim half a mile with certain drills to make sure youre swimming right! Its a tough one, but when you get in this rhythm in swimming, it feels like all the stress just disappears
.and I swim and swim
.
Then its the running
again. Its another rhythm thing and a catch your breath thing, but my entire team is doing it and doing it well!!!!! We pass each other by, high five each other and if we have any slow pokes we encourage them.
Helping me along with every sip is that Vitamin Energy drink too. Man oh man, that drink is so good. My team and I love it and cant do without it!
I always say this as my mother used to tell me
."Think Strong, Be strong".
She fought through pain, through frustration to bring this kid up. How can I fail her or the thousands that have a bigger fight just to live. Im living and healthy and, for once, Im not taking every breath I have for granted.
