Nik: A lot of players have rituals before a game. What are some of yours?

Luis: How much time do we have? I am very superstitious. I always have gum in my back pocket during a game. I touch bases on my way in and out of the dugout, when I'm coming in from the outfield. I have the same routine that I do every time in the batters box and every time I come out of the dugout. If I'm hitting good, I'll eat at the same restaurant and take the same route to the ball park. If I'm not hitting good, I'll switch it up and take a different route to do something different.

Nik: Do you really think the rituals work?

Luis: You do what you have to do. It's not you, but it's the game you always try to change and things around it.

Nik: What's your biggest pet peeve when it comes to baseball?

Luis: My biggest pet peeve is when players disrespect the game. I'm not a big fan of showboating.

Nik: What type of player do you consider yourself?

Luis: A blue - collar type player. I like to have fun in the clubhouse and around the ballpark with my teammates. But when the game starts, I'm all about winning the game.

Nik: When you're not playing baseball what can we find you doing?

Luis: Believe it or not I'm a shop-aholic. I also like to watch movies and veg-out.

Nik: What it the last movie you saw in the movie theater?

Luis: I saw Step It Up 2 by myself. I like all kinds of music, so I thought it was a pretty good movie.

Nik: What's the worst nickname you've ever been called?

Luis: Gonzo is what most people call me. My mom used to call me some pretty interesting names, but nothing I can say here.

Nik: Which city has the ugliest fans?

Luis: Hands down - Milwaukee. Hopefully nobody reading this is from Wisconsin.

Nik: What's the best advice you've ever received?

Luis: My mom told me to treat people the way you wish to be treated.

Nik: What was the last concert you attended?

Luis: I actually took my two daughters to see Hannah Montana twice when she came to South Florida. That was a lot of fun. I couldn't hear for a couple of days after that.
