Vice President Of Marketing
Sean Flynn

Nik: Being a Vice President you are bestowed with great empowerment. If you became the President of the United States, what would be the first rule of law you'd pass and a rule of law you'd get rid of?
Sean: I would make Opening Day a National Holiday and get rid of the crazy Federal Income Tax system; it's pretty ridiculous in its current state.
Nik: Which Marlins players, past or present, would you feel confident going into war with? Who have been the warriors?
Sean: There are many, but I would have to start with Dan Uggla, Josh Willingham, Jeff Conine, Josh Beckett, and Juan Pierre.
Nik: What is your biggest pet peeve?
Sean: Lack of promptness, which shows a total lack of respect. Time is too valuable to waste waiting for some clown.
Nik: In your words, what does the Marlin stand for?
Sean: Someone (or something) who possesses ferocity, speed, strength and is carnivorous by nature.
Nik: Which baseball movie must every baseball fan, young or old, watch and why?
Sean: The Bad News Bears (the original). Not only is it the best baseball movie of all time, but it's one of the best movies of all time. Great comedy, great story, great soundtrack.... great movie! If you have not seen this movie, DO IT TODAY! BTW, the remake did not do it justice.
Nik: Great leaders are not afraid to take on adversity and admit their mistakes. What is one bad baseball decision that you made that you wish you never did?
Sean: There certainly have been concepts that did not work out to match expectations or didn't work out at all for that matter. I cannot think of one decision that I wish was never made. Each experience, good or bad, provides value to move forward and get better.
Nik: What was the most ridiculous promotional idea ever presented, that you immediately squashed?
Sean: Bong Night. . .Nope!
Nik: What has been your greatest and proudest Marlins moment?
Sean: A packed house for the very first Super Saturday. These nights continue to be a great success story. A game, a concert, fireworks, two give-a-ways, celeb autograph sessions, player autograph sessions, Mermaids, Manatees, M-Dot and much more...What a night to be at the park!
Nik: Can you explain the Bobblehead fascination and will it ever die?
Sean: High perceived value, collectable, great item for displaying and has a player tie-in. Bobbleheads will be around for a long time.
Nik: What do you do to decompress and escape?
Sean: Spend time with my family.
Nik: Growing up, which baseball player did you emulate?
Sean: Willie McGee. The epitome of 80s Cardinal baseball and the fastest player from the first to home...EVER!
Nik: What was your worst job ever and why?
Sean: In high school, installing insulation on ceiling pipes in a vegetable-oil plant in the summer in St. Louis. Temp had to be over 1000 degrees! This lasted less than a week. I found better use of my summer break.
Nik: What is the greatest piece of advice that you have received that you still follow to this day as part of your philosophy and who gave you that advice?
Sean: Work you butt off! My high school football coach, Mr. Bauer, told me that.
Nik: Which teams do you find the most enjoyment beating, because their fans are so rude and annoying?
Sean: Phillies, Cubs and Mets
