Outfielder Brett Carroll #25

Nik: Do you have any important rituals that you perform before every game?
Brett: I always say a quick prayer before every game.
Nik: When you're not playing baseball what can we find you doing?
Brett: I "try" to play golf. I emphasize "try", because I'm not a great golfer, but it's fun to pretend to know what I'm doing.
Nik: Do you have any secret talents?
Brett: I am pretty good at drawing cartoons and animation. That kind of stuff.
Nik: Do you have a favorite cartoon?
Brett: I know it's not on TV anymore, but The Incredible Hulk has always been my favorite cartoon.
Nik: What is your biggest pet peeve in the dug out?
Brett: Spitting gum out on the ground really ticks me off. Someone spits it out on the ground and then it gets stuck to my cleats. You would think at this level players could find the garbage.
Nik: What is the worst nickname you've ever been stuck with?
Brett: The guys here call me "Urlacher" after the football player. I'm really not sure why they call me that, but they won't give it up.
Nik: What do you like better in South Florida than your home town in Knoxville, Tennessee?
Brett: The weather is better here. It's fairly consistent. I also love that there is so much to do here. Miami has a professional team for every sport; my town never had that.
Nik: When you go out, where do you usually find yourself?
Brett: So far I have been to a few places in Miami. I went to this one place to eat that had grass on the floor. That was wild.
Nik: Have you met the baseball player you have idolized yet?
Brett: I have met and played against many guys I watched and liked, but when I went to Atlanta I got to meet Terry Pendleton. He is my all time favorite.
Nik: When you're relaxing at home, watching the game, what is your drink of choice?
Brett: I'm kind of boring. I like to hydrate with the H2O, but if I want to get a little crazy, I'll crack open a Mountain Dew.
